LS,
Please forgive my ignorance as I am new in the world of computer builds. I had selected the x570 creator because it had onboard video. Eagerly starting for the first time I came into dr debug codes that suggested no VGA detected. Desperately needing to continue this adventure I bought a refurbished AMD Radeon HD 7470 PCI GPU and now I can boot into the mobo settings while pressing F2 during boot. What I seem to be missing is the ability to also use the HDMI out functionality of the onboard video. I can't find mobo settings related to that. Can anyone please tell me how I can hook up a second monitor to the HDMI out of the mobo itself? Kind regards PS: Is it just me and my firefox config or is this forum not using HTTPS? |

what processor are you using .. most Ryzens don't have an igpu so if you don't have a video card ... you're not going to .. well .. have any video.

Thanks ThreeDee for your response.
I have a ryzen 9 3950x. I have been out of the game regarding hardware for so long I never realized that onboard video required a CPU that supported that. Anyway I have some video since I rushed to get a second hand GPU. So is there any other way, shy of replacing cpu, to get the onboard video play along? I am still wondering why this forum from such a reputable company does not seem to use https. Kind regards |

there is no "onboard" gpu .. as far as the motherboard goes .. the video connectors are there to utilize the igpu in a cpu that comes with one if you happen to buy an appropriate cpu.

As said by ThreeDee, the AM4 boards do not offer onboard graphics. The connectors are just for using an APU (CPU with integrated grahics) like the Ryzen 5 3400G:
- Integrated AMD Radeon Vega Series Graphics in Ryzen Series APU And you do not want to exchange your expensive 3950X by a cheap APU... |
