The PC part list is here for reference: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DwTXNq
Not my first build, but it's not my PC. It's a friend that I'm helping. I cannot figure out why I'm getting a CPU error from my mobo speaker. I have reseated every single part, reset CMOS, all fans are working correctly. Could a failing PSU be triggering the 5 beeps? Nothing will display on the monitor. It's just black. After about 3 minutes the system shuts down after repeating the 5 beeps a few times. |

things to try
some other ram stick (p.s. that choice of 1x16gb was a bad one , 2x8 would have been far far better) but patriot isnt high on the list of amd am4 compatable sticks to be honest, so can you get hold of another stick of ddr4 to try |

If you got that "new" Ryzen 5 1600 AF CPU, the BIOS on the board might not recognize it.
AMD recently re-issued Ryzen 5 1600 on the Zen+ 12nm process, and since it's nominally a new CPU, the board might need a BIOS flash. |
