Hi,

Looks like I've just found out an issue with USB3 ports on my X570 Riptide motherboard.

In short, I have a cable plugged to USB3.2 port directly to MB, and Samsung T7 on the other end. For some reason, Windows (via USB Device Tree Viewer app) sees that T7 as connected to USB2.1. The same happens on every USB port on motherboard.

AMD chipset drivers: 8.02.18.557
BIOS: 5.67 [Beta] (For some reason non-beta seems to be not released at all); Also, I did not find any USB settings in BIOS at all
OS: Windows 10

Things I've already tried:
- Delete all USB drivers from Windows -> reboot -> Win installs USB drivers again -> no joy
- Forced Windows USB driver update -> no joy
- Windows tricks (dism, sfc) -> no joy

Anyone has any idea why my USB3.1 and USB3.2 ports are not working correctly ?

Forgot to add:
CPU: Ryzen 5950x

Also, Booted to live Ubuntu, same issues with USB devices.

Do other devices connect at USB 3.2 speeds? It would help to know if it's an issue
with the SSD enclosure/cable or the ports themselves. Also, have you tried a USB-C
to USB-C cable connected to the board's USB-C port/s?

I was able to dug up Lexar LS200 SSD, which is USB3.1 device.
Besides T7, I have no other USB3.2.

But, good call on cables:
Cable USB A -> C, from my mobile phone (which is roughly 2 years old) -> only USB2.1
Cable USB A -> C, that came with T7 -> USB 3.1/3.2 (3.1 for Lexar, 3.2 for T7)
Cable USB C -> C, same as I use on laptop and docking station (Thunderbolt4) -> did not work at all. I think there could have been issue with physical connectivity. I'll play with it more later.

I have somewhere C -> C, also from T7, but I could not find it on the spot.

One other thing I've noticed, my USB Jabra dongle (Link 390) is not powered up at all in neither USB ports. Windows say that USB Device failed enumeration, while it works on couple of other computers.
Also, there is message like Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)

It may be worth checking the dongle under linux, see if it's an OS issue. I am glad
the cable tip payed off You would be surprised how often cables are responsible
for connectivity issues, I always try new ones before looking for other possible
causes, it's quick and easy and I always have a few new ones in my desk drawer
just in case.

I'm surprised :) and now I need to find some good cables.

I've checked that dongle on 5 computers (2x Win10, 2x Win11, Fedora 43) and worked fine.
On my X570, under Win10 and under live booted Ubuntu -> not working.
Now the fun part: Jabra Link 380 works correctly, another Link 390 (borrowed for testing) also works correctly.

Try cleaning the contacts on the dongle with a q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol.
As a general rule, if other devices work fine on a board (like the other 390 and
the 380) then odds are high the issue is with the device itself. Possibly some
dirt on the contacts or a weak solder joint inside it that the Riptide doesn't like.

Glad you have it mostly figured out. If the dongle still won't work after a clean
then at least you can switch it with the 380 or ask whomever you borrowed the 390
from if they want to trade

Cleaning it up, while it works in couple other computers - I see no point, but task put onto near-future-TODO list.
I'm already using 380, and the guy will not make trade. The other 390 is his only dongle for Jabra headset.

I cannot make USB-C port in my MB to work. Either I plug cable incorrectly or port is dead. Anyway, it is too late for warranty claim. And I still have working USB-A ports.

New proper cables are on their way.
