Hi, I'm new here so I couldn't create my own thread...

I was wondering because I might get my hands on an Intel Core i9-12900E soon, but it's not listed under the cpu support list for either of my asrock motherboards.
Since it's not a consumer cpu, I don't expect it to be listed even if it were supported, so I was hoping to get a clearer answer here.

The motherboards in question are the B660 Pro RS and the B760M Steel Legend WiFi.
According to Intel's site, the 12900E is compatible with the B660 chipset.

Thanks in advance!

I am afraid you will likely have to open a support ticket with ASRock to ask.
I have searched everywhere I can think of for what boards support the 12900E and
the only ones I can find are embedded system boards. It is Alder Lake-S based and
socket 1700 so there is a chance it may work on your boards but I can't vouch for
it personally.

You can open a support ticket with ASRock here:

The main thing making me reluctant to say it will work is that it's an Embedded
variant and it's quite possible intel may have locked it out of consumer BIOS versions.
They have a nasty habit of doing that.

Let me know what ASRock says on the matter, I am quite curious now after spending
almost an hour searching every database I can find with no luck.
