Hi Xaltar. Thanks for the help. Here is the post or my problem.
I have a B550 Taichi mobo. It wont post or give me an option to go to the bios. This is the second time it has happened to me. The first time it happened I was trying to boot from a linux usb. I had to go to the bios make it boot from the usb and disabled my other drives. I can't use F11 to get to the boot menu. That has never worked for me so I go to the bios to tell it what to boot from. The usb would not boot. So I restarted the computer without the usb and it would not give me the option to go to the bios. The screen stayed black. The debug codes ran till they went off and it would power off. Other times the debug stopped at A6 or is it Ab? And the power stayed on when it did that. It continued to do that so I started trying things like clearing the cmos and removing the battery, holding the power button the discharge everything, moving the dimms and trying only one and disconnecting everything, satas, usbs, M2. I don't know what I did but it came back to life. I hooked everything back up and it was fine. Till I tried to boot the usb again. Not the same one I made a new one. But it did it to me again and I can't get to the bios. I did the same troubleshooting and it didn't help. I have been down for a month now. I asked Tech support for help and wrote them nearly the same thing 3 weeks ago. The only response I have had was automatic email saying they got my message and a tech would get back to me. So I decided to try this forum while I am waiting for their reply. Any advice is appreciated...Cheers I was considering trying to do a bios flash. Maybe it will detect the usb in the bios usb port. Would it be bad to flash the same bios again? |

Ab/A6 is the code the system shows when it is in the BIOS. Without your full specs
it's tricky guessing what the issue could be. It sounds like you have a display issue. Have you tried using different display cables and outputs? Another red flag is the fact that F11 has never worked for you. What keyboard and mouse are you using on the system? There are quite a few "wireless" (using a dongle) peripherals that are not properly compatible with modern hardware. Try disconnecting all devices from your system, including keyboard and mouse. All you want connected is your display. If the system "wakes up" after that then you may have bad peripherals. We recently had another forum member experiencing POST issues that turned out to be caused by a wireless mouse dongle. It has gotten to the point where I now keep a set of cheap corded peripherals on hand for troubleshooting. The ideal is usually a branded set from the likes of Dell/HP etc. These peripherals are designed for office use and tend to be the most compatible. |

Thanks for the feedback.
The display is a Gigabyte M32U. Its working. I plugged my android TV box in and it works. Besides this happened twice and it was not the display the first time. I have tried using both the display port and HDMI on the computer and the display is not getting a signal. The keyboard is a Keychron K8. I usually use bluetooth but I plug it in when I have to charge it. It does not use BT when plugged in and there is no dongle connected to the mobo. Currently it is not plugged in. And this problem only happened when I tried to boot from a USB. That was the cause not my display or keyboard. I'm sure it is something to do with the mobo. The only things connected to the motherboard is the power supply and the APU Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G. I use the onboard graphics. No GPU. And the display. Yeah, I would like to get the F11 to work but that will have to wait till the mobo is booting normaly. |
