I'm new to Windows so I ask some tips.
I tried many times to install Windows 10 but it ends always with the same error that doesn't find the file (error 0x80070570). I'd like to install it on his own disk. I'll boot it from the F11 BIOS choice only when I need it. I didn't buy a licence yet. I'll use it only for iTunes (to solve a problem with a couple of iphone) ad to update the graphic card bios or any firmware. I tried three times. Three times I downloaded the iso and put it on the usb drive. It starts, asks all the stuffs (keyboard, language, type, licence, and so on) then, it starts copying the files and at halfway of the second step it stops with that error. Any clou/tip? many thanks Paolo |

If you just need Win 10 for temporary job, making a bootable USB with the tool Microsoft provides is the easiest way. Just download the Media Creation Tool and run it.
I currently can't recommend Rufus, since you need additional work if you want SecureBoot. Another option would be running Win 10 in a VM (KVM, Xen, or whatever hypervisor you prefer). I'm not sure if you would be able to create passthrough for the GPU and possibly the USB. |

Hi Xue
thanks for your answer. I've a spare 1TB hdd, I can give it to windows and format it if needed. For this I'd like to install normally windows 10 there. I think I did what you suggested. For what I've understood, if you surf from whithin Windows, than the MS site propose to create a bootable USB via media creation tool. If you get there with a browser from linux, it proposes you to download an iso to burn either to an usb or a dvd. In both cases you ends with something bootable. I followed the second way that should equal the first one and I created a bootable usb that boots and works... for a while. I have access to a windows pc, but without administrative privileges, so I cannot run media creation tool. I think so because it only says to restart it due to a problem (not mentioned, even in a shell). Even if a get access to a pc with admin privileges and I can run it, I think that at the end I'll have the same bootable USB for what I said before. I'll try to virtualize it, it could work for itunes, but I think it won't work for bios updates. Anyway I'll prefere to try to install it |

Don't worry about the name.
As for the DL, you can change your browser's UserAgent string and trick MS' site into believing you are running Windows. You can then use a VM and create the USB with the tool you just downloaded. |

Well, with this tool you get a werking Win 10 installation. Something you obviously don't have now.

Hi xhue
I succeded. It wasn?™t the usb drive the problem. It worked at the end. The error was mine, I had formatted the drive as ntfs while the installer wants a raw partition. |

Well, I knew well it could be one or more of a thousand things that could be wrong. I just went for the most plausible one, given the info I had.
Anhway, I'm glad you are OK now. Windows' world has its perks too, you know. :D |
