   ASRock Z97 Extreme6 and NVMe Samsung SSD 950

What worked for me.

Bought the Samsung 950 256 for myself. I run Win 7 64. I run 8.1 on my backup and Win 10 is not for me.

MS has a hotfix (Windows6.1-KB2990941-v3-x64.msu) that adds native support to Win 7.
(KB2990941 - Update to support NVM Express by using native drivers in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2)

I then used Samsung Data Migration to migrate the OS from a Corsair SSD to the NVMe Samsung SSD 950. I really dislike doing fresh installs. They get stale fast and everything else needs reinstall.

Turned off the system, disconnected the Corsair, booted to BIOS, set NVMe Samsung SSD 950 as boot drive and Windows started  straight away.  I installed Samsung_NVMExpress_Driver_rev10 and have had no issues.....well I put the drive in the wrong slot initially...the benchmark told me I did something wrong so I put it in the right slot and benched again....I felt better
