There was a recent update to 5.80: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/index.us.asp#BIOS
which mentions: ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system. Are there some known problems with Zen+ when using it, why is it not recommended? |

They most likely do not know, if there are problems with Zen and Zen+.
Because they do not test with these CPUs anymore! Otherwise we we would have to wait longer for Zen2 bios updates... |

I have x370 Fatal1ty Gaming K4 + Ryzen 1700 (see my sig) and new 1.0.0.3 ABB bios.
So far it works fine, I overclock it, I ran stress tests, games, compilations and regular computer usage for couple of days with great success. I'm not saying that You should upgrade nor I explicitly recommend it, but my system works and bios looks good to me on older Ryzen. Asrock took away "Asrock Sapphire boost" option (since 1.0.0.1) and no longer have nice bios splash screen, this maybe due to bios chip size, I'm not saying I miss it very much, since I don't even know what exactly it did, except 300 mhz auto overclock which I override by 900 now :) It should not matter, but I run Linux on my rig, so I have no driver requirements to install bios (which are mentioned in bios download page) or the like. |

CPU: Ryzen 5600X
MB: Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4 (BIOS 7.03) RAM: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, works with 3200 by default on 7.03 bios (previously I could not go higher than 2933) |

Thanks! I run Linux too, but I'll probably wait updating the firmware until later. So far my Ryzen 7 2700X runs fine with 5.60. |

About the ROM not enough MB storage for all CPU suppose codes, would it be necessary to remove code of the oldest Summit Ridge in order to make space for newest Matisse ???
If yes to my question, does it mean unable to boot and use old cpu anymore? That's dangerous for old cpu users to update latest rom. Only if what I concern it true. I don't know, I'm asking, hopefully someone clarify me, thanks. |

I have X370 killer and with 5.40 Bios and RYzen 1600 RAM didn't work properly. XMP profile wasn't setting. It worked with 5.30. Now i've updated to ryzen 2700x and even with bios 5.40 everything works fine. So in other works there might be something that does't work. Based on this i dont want to test latest bios and i will not recommend it to any board.
