Hello guys,

I have this problem where, I set up in my bios the correct xmp profile for mmy ram (LPX Vengance 4x16gb 2666) I check the timmings and everything seems ok, but when I use a program like cpu-Z or Ryzen master it shows me its running just at 1067mhz and the timmings aren't the ones I used on the BIOS.

I saw from some videos with other asrock MB that some settings overwrites others but even checking every box can't get the bios to save the right timmings.

I am at the last BIOS update 3.50.

Any idea on what I could do?

Thanks

The RAM sticks are placed like mentioned in the manual and you have 64 GB quad channel?
When you go into the bios, are your RAM settings still like you configured?

I would do:
1. CMOS-Reset like described in the board manual
2. Enter bios and load defaults, save and exit
3. Enter bios again and load XMP profile for 2666Mhz

If the problem still is there, try XMP profile with 2400Mz.

And post your config for CPU, board and the exact info for your RAM (LPX Vengeance 4x16gb 2666 is not enough).

I have LPX Vengeance 2x16gb 3000, but the exact info is CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 for example.

I tried the defualt settings, with 2666 and 2400 and the same is happening.

Yes, 64gb quad channel as the BIOS manual mentions, I did more research about it and seems like ryzen only supports up to 2133mhz on quad channel but seems odd.

This is the info in the ram:

I tried DRAM calculator, used those values and the same happend, it didn't saved the changes or something and is still at 1067, don't know what to do :/

DRAMCALC values vs My actual Values:

You didn't post your board and CPU!

Ok, from your DRAM calculator screen i can assume it's a Threadripper 2 Gen.
The CMK64GX4M4A2666C16 RAM is in the memory QVL of the Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming, 4 Dimms in Quadchannel like you have with 2666Mhz.

What i do not understand is the behavior of the board when you save and exit after you entered the settings.
How long does it take for the restart?
If the board does not accept the DRAM settings, it should do some retries and either freeze or start with default settings. If it would freeze the only way to come out would be a CMOS-Clear.

But at all, does the bios accept and save any changes?
Can you change something unimportant like audio on/off or Full Screen Logo on/off to test that?

I forgot sorry, Threadripper 2950X, Asrock Taichi x399.

It restarted 3 times before starting when I used the values from the DRAMCALC, so I can see why those didn't got saved, but when I do a test with all by default and only change the xmp profile to 2666 or auto it restarts perfectly in one try, but when I check CPU-Z it still the same as before, I go back and check again the BIOS and the timming and everything seems alright. Tried again reseting the BIOS and just changing simle stuff like the logo in the loading scren and everything seems saved and correct when I restart.

I have tried with older version of the BIOS (3.30) and the same happend. Don't know if there is something wrong with my BIOS or is just ryzen limited to 2167 on quad.

Are you sure that is supported memory for the Taichi X399 by AsRock? There memory compatibility list I think only supports 32 gigs of the LPX Corsair RAM.

@jdiazsaezwd:
Ok, the bios saving aspect is clarified.
The bios just does not like the RAM settings...

The CMK64GX4M4A2666C16 is not listed in the Taichi x399 QVL, but in the Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming QVL. These two boards are almost the same so this RAM should work in your board with 2666Mhz too.

The XMP profile shows 1333 MHz / 16-18-18-35-53 / 1,20 V
That is for the XMP 2666Mhz selection.

I suggest following tests:

1)
Select XMP 2666Mhz profile
Increase DRAM voltage to 1.3V
Save and exit.

2)
If 1) didn't work, do the same as in 1),
but adjust the DRAM frequency down to 2400Mhz
Save and exit.
In other words: Use the XMP 2666Mhz profile with 2400Mhz

3.)
Play again with the DRAM calculator:
But use the Profile V1 and Calculate SAFE

Good luck!
