I have an M.2 SSD boot drive for windows, but when I got everything working, I added a 1TB SSD for Steam and other games. But when I turn on the PC, it doesn't show the SSD in file explorer. I then launch diskpart and still no sign of the 1TB SSD.

I remove SSD, take it to my other computer and it is recognized without issue. I clean the drive and format it and install it back on this MB. I boot it up and still no SSD.

I remove SSD, go and remove my working 1TB Samsung 840 SSD and install it on this MB and still no SSD.

My Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0 came with the latest BIOS. I reset the BIOS several times and even removed the battery over night without success. Not sure what else to try? All of the BIOS settings seem fine.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

It is connected to port 0, I think. It is the lower one against the motherboard. I can't see it as the video card is blocking it.

I just tried my other sata power cable that is powering the system and CPU RGB fans, so I know it works. I was using the secondary sata power cable for this drive only.

But it doesn't work on either power cable.

Tomorrow I'll remove the video card and plug n 4 sata cables and use the two that came with it, and two sata cables that are working on my other rig, and hope it works.

Otherwise, it looks like a return before my time runs out.

just pointing out that some of the sata ports on 'some' boards get de-activated when using other things

e.g. pcie slots can over ride some sata ports etc

but sata _0 should always remain active

Try different sata ports, double and triple check bios options for drive settings.
