I have a Z390M Pro4. My boot disk is Samsung 970 Pro nvme M2. I have a Supermicro AOC-S3008L-L8e, it's an 8 port SAS card.
I am running 8 SATA drives on the card, as JBOD. I am running the latest firmware for the SAS card, but it is 2018. https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/accessories/addon/AOC-S3008L-L8e.php Everything is working fine, the machine will boot into Win Server 2019. 8 SATA drives presented as single JBOD, no issues. The problem is that I cannot see the Samsung M2 in BIOS. It is not listed in Advanced > Storage Configuration, but it is listed as bootable option. I have to run RAID mode (not AHCI) for the SAS card. I have to run Compatibility Support Module or the machine will never boot. This configuration, although bootable and running, means that Windows Storage Controller Drivers for the nvme m2, are not using the installed Samsung nvme drivers. Samsung Magician (drive diagnostic and tools) cannot recognize the nvme m2 drive either. Any ideas on the proper BIOS configuration for my hardware? |
