Hi,
I am thinking about setting up my Z390 Steel Legend motherboard with raid drives. Now I am pretty sure I can do an m.2 RAID on it OK. Or, I can do a SATA RAID on it OK. My question is please, can I have two separate RAID configurations? I am hoping to do 1 RAID0 with 2 x M.2 disks Also a RAID 1 or 10 on the remaining SATA ports, so with 4 disks thus using up all the SATA ports as two will have been disabled as I am using 2 of the M.2 ports. So for the M.2 RAID M2_1 disables SATA3_0 with PCIe device M2_2 disables SATA3_5. Can I use the same M.2 PCIe disk in these slots please? Say for example 2 off Intel 660P devices, one in each M.2 slot? For the SATA RAID. Using the spare SATA ports which are not disabled after utilising the M.2 ports then these would be connected to 4 off identical SATA SSD?™s. It is not the details of a walk through on setting this up I need, I have done am M.2 RAID0 OK on a Phantom Gaming 7. My main questions are about the use of 2 identical PCIe M.2 disks in the two M.2 slots. Is this OK? Also will the motherboard run 2 off separate RAID arrays please? One via the 2 off M.2, the other via the remaining SATA ports? Thanks in advance. |
