AMD is sending me a replacement CPU. Will update thread when I'm able to test the new one.

Thanks for the help. AMD has replied to my service request and I've provided them with additional supporting documentation. I'll update the thread when I hear back from them.

could be faulty memory controller on the CPU. Swapping stuff around, I'm sure you've already checked the pins on the CPU for and defects

Running latest bios 1.20

I attempted separate Ubuntu installs this morning with the two brands of memory I have: G.Skills and Corsair. Both installs failed with hardware asserts related to memory corruption....

mce: Uncorrectable hardware memory error in user-access at 7c52a8580
mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
Memory failure: 0x7c52a8: Sending SIGBUS to Xorg:4045 due to hardware memory corruption
Memory failure: 0x7c52a8: Sending SIGBUS to y2start:4110 due to hardware memory corruption
Memory failure: 0x7c52a8: recovery action for dirty LRU page: Recovered

I've run memtest86 on the G.Skills set with no errors. I find it hard to believe I have two bad sets of brand new memory, and considering I swapped all components except the CPU, still leaning toward a CPU problem. I'm waiting on feedback from AMD.

The memory corruption messages above occur at the same spot in the log with signals sent to Xorg and y2start. I assume yast is configuring something. I do see ISO 9660 Extensions messages before these errors and also some RAID related messages. I don't have any RAID configured. More confusion.

Hi,

New build, trying to install windows 10 from USB, also tried from SSD, immediate BSOD before windows installer can get started and display anything. Usually CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

Also tried Fedora Linux, which did install but falls into safe mode due to the following errors....

      smp: Bringing up secondary CPUs...
      x86: Booting SMP configuration:
do_IRQ: 1.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 2.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 3.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 4.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 5.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 6.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 7.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 8.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 9.55 No irq handler for vector
do_IRQ: 10.55 No irq handler for vector

I've swapped motherboard, ram, graphics card. CPU is the last remaining component not swapped. Is this really a CPU issue? I've poked around the BIOS but unsure what to change if anything. Using most recent BIOS for board. Google searching did not help. Any hints would be welcome.

System config...
   ASRock B550 Steel Legends Motherboard
   AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
   Geforce GTX 1660 Super
   G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600 (F4-3600C18D-32GTZN)
   also tried CORSAIR - Vengeance LPX 32GB (2PK x 16GB) 3.2 GHz DDR4 (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16)

Thanks!
