    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 at 10:17pm
Hallo friends,
I made a system upgrade from AsRock Z97 with i7 and GTX970 to AsRock Z490 Taichi with i9, RTX 2070FE with existing Seasonic 750 silent.

One thing doesn't work:
When I power off from the button in any way, I only get a restart after switcingh off and on the power plug. (Only then the power led gets off.)

I tried:
- I start with PSU Seasonic 750 snow silent -> restart error!
- I tried without any eGPU -> it works well!
- I used my old PSU BeQuiet 850 -> it works well!
- I bought a new PSU Asus ROG Strix 850G -> restart error!
- fast startup is disabled, onboard led turned off!

Please help me:
=> Has the mainboard an error in combination with Seasonic PSU (Asus may use Seasonic tech.?)
Why do these 2 PSUs not completely power down while one does?
Greetings Konrad

I am sure, its not a PSU problem.
Maybe the UEFI (version P1.70) is not working correctly.
Meanwhile I
- turned 'Deep Sleep in S4 S5' to 'enabled'
- no LEDS or RGBs on
- fast restart in Win10 was and is disabled
=> no change of the problem, it does not fall in deep sleep mode.
Please AsRock Support help me to fix that problem!
(I do not want to return the board.)
Konrad

Hurrah friends,
my problem is gone by installing a new GPU Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super.
A real solution of the error is it not, as the source of the problem is unclear. Is it the AsRock board or the components PSU or GPU?
Neither with my EVGA 970 nor the Nvidia RTX 2070 Super it worked well.
With PSU BeQiet 580 it was ok, but with Seasonic 750 or Asus Strix 850 the error was there.
Ok, now I can close the case in both senses and get my PC under the table and I am optimal equipped for the next 6 years.

Hallo friends here I am again.
There seems to be a real bug with this board:
=> The Asrock Z490 Taichi does not power down!
. I can let it go asleep, that means a 25GB hibernate file on C..
. I can push the power button longer than 20 sec, it will shut down.
. But when I disable deep sleep and let the power button really power down
=> then it will allways restart after shut down even when I switched off at the wall.
That means the motherboard refused to shut off power!
(I use German language in my PC so the expressions may vary.)

==> Has anyone made the same experience? Please advise, what can I do?.
The support (in German) was not helpful.
Greetings Konrad

Hallo friends,
I beg pardon to Asrock, it was all my fault!
I did not put the frontpanel plugs correctly on the header.
Ok there was a still magic behavier, as when I put off the header plugs, it did not come back to correct behavier.
Now all is working well, and I like the functions and features of the Asrock Z490 Taichi mainboard.
And thanks very much to the support guy, who tried all to give me a guidance.
So for you all a good start into the New Year.
Stay healthy, Konrad
