I noticed in the BIOS downloads that it only lists the non X and X models, such as 3600 and 3600X, but not the XT models such as 3600XT. So, I am wondering if the 3600X and 3600XT uses the same BIOS cpu microcode, or does this board only support the X but not the XT's?
I would like to buy the 3600XT but I don't want to buy the wrong CPU for my AB350 Pro4 ATX. Below is the motherboard I have. Thank you for clarification. https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350%20Pro4/index.asp |

Key word here .. "Should" work with XT's just fine..
3600XT was released July 7th, 2020 .. your motherboards brother the B350 Fatal1ty Gaming ITX/ac released AGESA Combo AM4 1.0.0.6 BIOS on 8-19-2020 that supports "XT" chips. Latest BIOS for your motherboard is AGESA Combo AM4 1.0.0.6 (rev 6.40) and was released 10-14-2020. the B350 Fatal1ty says "XT" chips are supported in their BIOS description .. yet there are no XT's listed under their CPU support list .. the list is identical to what they have listed for your motherboard. Whoever handles ASRock's website(s) seems to be a bit slow on updates .. or just lazy, lol. |

Yeah a bit slow for sure, lol.
When I saw the release date for my latest BIOS it made me think that this board does in fact support XT models, but without it listed it seems risky. Just saying "Update AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 PI 1.0.0.6" is not enough info to go on. They should list everything that new update fixes or supports in detail. I wonder if Tech support would answer the question, and if I could trust that answer? |
