I just installed the CPU and RAM into my new Asrock B365M PRO-4-F motherboard, but when I boot it stays on a screen asking me to use my keyboard to boot to the UEFI Bios, change boot order, etc. The problem is that it does not respond to my USB keyboard. I have tried putting the keyboard into all the USB ports in the rear I/O without luck. I reset the CMOS memory to see if that would help. Is it still the case with some motherboards needing a PS/2 keyboard to configure the BIOS? My last couple motherboards didn't even have a PS/2 keyboard port so I no longer have one lying around. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

What keyboard are you using? Some keyboards can be problematic. I keep an old HP
keyboard in the closet for just this kind of situation, it's USB but compatible with just about everything. Failing that, you can try a PS2 keyboard if you can get your hands on one. Typically the problematic keyboards only have an issue during POST, they work fine once the OS loads. |
