This has happened a few times now. I plugged in a USB stick, or a new device (like camera) and the computer resets. What gives? I'm on the latest firmware, Z790 PG Lightning, 13700K, GSKILL 6800 memory (F5-6800J3445G16GX2-TZ5RK) in A2-B2 slots.

Additionally, I've had a few resets after things running for a while, so it's not actually stable at it's XMP profile?

First of all, the memory controller (13th Gen have both DDR4 and a DDR5 memory controller) is integrated in the CPU, and runs optimal at 5600MHz
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/230500/intel-core-i713700k-processor-30m-cache-up-to-5-40-ghz/specifications.html?wapkw=13700k
But overclocking isd not guaraanteed, it is always the mic of hardware components, 2 different 13600K CPU, can have different results.

The USB reboot issue, is usuallu caused by the USB stick, I used a cheap intenso USB stick, which I used for BIOS updates, on many boards, and on some it caused a reboot, when inserted, now I use a better quality Kingston, and the problem is gone, so it is not so much a board problem.
No idea why it doesn't happen on all boards, but another (better quality) USB stick solved it for me.
Kind Regards

I'd also mention I ran memtest86 for a full day and a half and came up with no issues.
