I have a z170 that I tried installing a 990 Pro NVMe drive into today and am running into difficulty getting the drive to be detected.
Here is my setup as it stands: - the bios is on 7.5 - SATA3_3, SATA3_4, SATA3_5, SATA3_A1 are the only ones in use - CSM Storage OpROM Policy is set to UEFI only There is no NVMe Configuration section in the Advanced page of my bios. Disk Management, in Windows, does not see the drive (although I guess that's to be expected if the bios doesn't know about it either?) I don't really know what I can try at this point and would appreciate the assistance. |

I ended up just giving up and returning the NVMe since it was still within the no-questions-asked return window. My impression, at least, was that I may have gotten a bad drive because a different, older NVMe was recognized fine.
I hope you have better luck though. |
