I have just found the mistake.
A few weeks ago I installed a nvme drive and because of that two sata ports would be disabled. that where exactly those two where I tried to connect the bluray drive to. So I now looked into the manual and chose a SATA port that is free. And now everything works just fine :)

Hello everyone.
I have a little question.
A few years ago I build my own pc with a internal Bluray Drive.
It worked for a couple of years and then I decided to pull the power from the player since I needed the power for another ssd. Now I wanted to get the old Bluray Drive working again so I gave it power.

But now the sad part is, that it is opening and closing and also spinning the disk but it does neither show up in windows or in uefi/bios.

What I have:
Mainboard: Asrock Extreme4 Z370
Bios Version: P4.20
Since the Drive has no identification like Modelnumber written on it I have to go by the look from the front. It looks like this LG one: GH24NSC0

What I tried:
1. Looking for it in Diskmanager but it also does not show up in Bios/Uefi
2. Unplug the SATA cable and plug it in anywhere else.
3. Tried a completely different cable
4. Updated the Bios to 4.2

Any suggestions?
