Subject: Assistance Needed with BIOS for Z790 Taichi Carrara to start with Intel 14th gen. ?

Dear ASRock Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I recently purchased your Z790 Taichi Carrara motherboard and have been experiencing difficulties reaching your support team via email regarding a BIOS query.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance regarding a BIOS-related matter. Specifically, I am unsure whether I can install an Intel 13700k CPU into my new Z790 Carrara motherboard and if it will boot correctly.

If this CPU is not compatible, I am seeking guidance on what steps to take next. Do I need to purchase an older 13th generation CPU, or is there a possibility that you have considered this scenario without resorting to such unconventional measures?

Before purchasing this motherboard, I carefully reviewed your website, where it was stated that this series supports BIOS for the 14th generation Intel CPUs. However, upon inspecting the physical manual included in the package (Version vs.0b), I could not find confirmation of this.

I kindly request your assistance as I am unable to complete the setup of a computer valued at $3500 due to the potential lack of a properly updated BIOS on what is essentially a premium-grade motherboard. It's disheartening to encounter such a hurdle.

Your prompt attention and guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Warm regards, pete

Socket     Family     Number     Core     Frequency     FSB     Cache     Power     Validated BIOS     Bootable since BIOS

1700     Core i7     i7-13700K(B0)     Raptor Lake-S     3.4GHz          30MB     125W     2.01     All

From your board's product page under "support -> CPU support list".

It should boot on all BIOS versions. The 14700k however will require BIOS versoin
8.03 or newer to boot.

Hope this answers your question

Certainly! Here's the site version:

1700     Core i7     i7-14700F (B0)     Raptor Lake-S Refresh     2.1GHz     33MB     65W     9.09     8.03

But on the box, it clearly states - supports Intel 13th generation.

In manual too as well :(

How cam i find whats bios have my one?

There will be a sticker on the BIOS chip with a version number printed on it. On
your board it's on the corner of the board near the front panel header.
