Hey guys!

Trying to OC my ASRock Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7 w 6800K but I can't!!! Not stable with any of the factory presets, not even 3.8Ghz.

My goal is 4.2Ghz but I'll settle with 4Ghz Wink

Can any of you that successfully OC this MoBo w 6800K share your settings with me? I'm tired of trying and still getting freezes all the time

-ASRock Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7
-6800K
-H80i Cooler
-CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2800
-SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 2280 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

THANKS!!!!!

Broadwell-E is not a great over clocking processor, but 3.8 or 4.0 should be a given. Mine does that fine, and beyond, not exactly the same ASRock X99 board, but the differences are minimal and essentially none in the UEFI/BIOS.

First, have you tried setting your memory to 2133, to take it out of the OC equation? With your memory at 2800, using the XMP profile I assume, what is the BCLK set at?

I'd also like to check your memory for compatibility, exact model number please.

You should be able to set the Core Ratio/multipliers to 40/4.0GHz with VCore on Auto, and the BCLK at 100MHz. LLC at level 3 or 2 is plenty.

CPU Input voltage is at what now? What is the VCore you get using the OC presets?

What are you C State settings in Advanced, CPU configuration?

What is the CPU Cache speed set to?

Thanks Parsec!

Memory: CMK32GX4M2A2800C16

Voltage is now (STOCK) 1.104 and OC I think it was 1.32

Dont rememeber the setting, but they were the OC preset ones. I tried the 3.8, 4.0, etc and the all fail. I get tho start and everything but I get random frezes. I did lower the memory just to take it out of the equation but no luck...

What settings do you recommend?

Moderators Note.

I have consolidated all posts by moving the ones in "Intel Motherboards" to the OP's dupe Topic under "OC Technical Discussion"

I felt that this topic belongs in the OC section.

EDIT: And I just deleted a couple extraneous posts to keep it simple reading.

Carry on.

What is the best Overclocker for this board on your opinion?

I mainly use it for Video and Photo editing
