Hello,

I am thinking of buying K4 but before that I have some questions:

If I use m.2 slots it will disable some of the sata ports?

And if I want to install m.2 SSD on my system, which could meet my requirement?

thanks.

Dear joseph670717,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

This model supports one Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1) and one M.2 Socket (M2_2).
About your question, M2_2 and SATA3_3 share lanes.
If either one of them is using, the other one will be disabled.
Please refer to the following link for the detailed specification.

About your second question, the M.2_SSD on the official website are verified and tested in our lab.
So we would recommend choosing the M.2_SSD on our Storage QVL for system stable and better compatibility.
Please refer to the link below, it lists all the M.2_SSD which supported.

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD

That boards top most M.2 slot is the Ultra M.2(PCIe Gen3 x4) variety.

There's no reason any M.2 drive wouldn't work on it or the lower speed lower M.2(SATAIII speed) slot.
