Hi I just built X399 Fatality Pro Gaming. The system will not post with the Intel 1 TB M.2 SSDDKKW010X6X1 5series SATA 3 and system will not post with Transcend 512GB M.2 TS512GMTS800 SATA 3 drives installed.
Both Intel 1 TB M.2 SSDDKKW010X6X1 5series SATA 3 and Transcend 512GB M.2 TS512GMTS800 SATA 3 work fine in my Asrock X370 Fatality Professional Gaming board but not in this board...........the bios needs work to make them compatible. All my games are on this Intel M.2 SATA 3 drive and it needs to be recognized and compatible with this motherboard for me to use it. In the manual it states the Transcend 512GB M.2 TS512GMTS800 SATA 3 is compatible but it doesn't post. The system does post with Intel 1 TB M.2 PCIe 600P and all M.2 slots work with this M.2 drive. WHY?? Thank You. |

Dear Fr34ky, Greetings, this is ASRock TSD. ASRock X399 Professional Gaming supports 3 x Ultra M.2 slots and all of them supports PCIe and SATA type SSD. So, this system should able to detect both M.2 SSD under BIOS or boot menu. According to your question, we provide some suggestions for verifying: 1. Please enter the BIOS setup and then press [F9] to load BIOS default setting. 2. Under BIOS>Advanced>Storage Configuration, please check if the SSD can be recognized. 3. Reboot the system and then press [F11] to access boot menu; check whether SSD is being detected. If the SSD appears under BIOS or boot menu, just with problem to post; please reinstall OS to verify the OS environment. But if the SSD is not detected under BIOS, please plug it back to X370 motherboard to verify. Thanks! All the best, ASRock TSD |

The OP's post looks almost like a direct copy paste of sections of my post from a while ago
You need to be on bios 2.00 for full M.2 compatibility, these symptoms of M.2 incompatibility and non functionality are present on bios 1.7 or lower......flash up to bios 2.0 Edited by lowdog - 29 Dec 2017 at 5:17pm |

Sometimes there are only a finite number of ways to troubleshoot I love it when this happens to me and someone repeats my advice, means I didn't get it completely wrong

Fr34ky, we do not have nearly enough information. Please post your full system specifications in your signature as I have. Make sure to post your BIOS and OS version, power supply and more. As lowdog stated, I suspect you must be on BIOS 2.00 to have a chance. Why ASRock_TSD did not question this is a mystery. What is your post code? Enjoy, John.

I can almost guarantee he is on bios 1.7 or earlier. flashing to bios 2.00 will fix his issue.
