So I'm looking on upgrading my system. I'm looking at Asrock or an MSI mobo, but leaning heavily on Asrock Z370 Pro 4 right now. I'm looking at DDR4 2666MHz RAM, but I'm not certain what to get. I've been using G.Skill memory the past few upgrades and have great success with them. I also like Muskin and Corsair. I don't see G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2666C15D-16GVR

Shouldn't it work though? Can anyone confirm this memory works with this mobo? I can find this one from G.Skill working though. Thanks!

I recently bought the Z370 Pro4 and the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2666C15D-16GVR from Newegg. That ram works fine but defaults to 2133mhz per its SPD, to run at 2666mhz you will need to go into BIOS and change the speed. I did not change voltage or anything else memory related. Ran MemTest86 v7.4 default 4 pass (~2.5hrs) and it passed with zero errors. On G.Skills website they claim that ram is verified to work on Asrock Z370 Pro4.
Hope this info helps ! |

Expensive ram is the last place where you can make investments. Get cheapest but branded 2666 / 3000 / 3200 kit you can get.
Yes it supports XMP 2.0. But of course, as badbri said, you need to enable xmp profile or change speed in bios.
