Topic: Unknown Header on Taichi Motherboard Posted: 26 Feb 2018 at 1:06am |
There is a 10 pin header (pin 8 is missing (top row, third pin from left) that is unknown to me. This header is not listed in either the manual I got with the motherboard or the downloadable manual from the ASRock site about the Taichi. As I sail, it is a 10 pin header, dual row, top row third pin is missing. There is some type of writing on the board near the header but I am unable to read it. Here is a picture borrowed from another post that shows the header just below the Primary PCIe 16X slot (PCIe slot number 2) just to the upper right of the BIOS ROM chip. https://ibb.co/ekC48H Any ideas?

http://images.hardwarecanucks.com/image/mac/reviews/ASRock/X370%20Taichi/X370_Taichi_92.jpg Here is a better image, although there are probably better ones still. Are you referring to the header right next to that yellow sticker, slightly down and slightly right??
I'm guessing but it might be an unused COM port or something like that?

Yep...the 10 pin header to the lower right. No documentation in either the manual or the PDF from ASRock. Do not think it is a com header though. Considering its proximity to the BIOS ROM, I would suspect something to do with BIOS flashing maybe?
