I purchased a pc from cyberpowerpc and had various issues and multiple BSOD's and found out cyberpower had put the wrong ram timings and was causing all the issues I was having. Memtest86 stopped testing after 10,000 errors Clap. So I loaded bios and deleted their profile and set it to XMP just to try it out and it made 4 passes with 0 errors and not a single BSOD afterwards but my G skill RipJaws 3000mhz ddr4 8x2 is now only running in 2133. If I go into the bios and set the profile to DDR4 - 3000 windows won't even boot. It'll take me to a splash screen and tell me it tried to boot unsuccessfully too many times.  The ram is supported by the motherboard and a simple XMP 3000 profile should work. Any help is much appreciated.

Specs:
i7-8700k
ASRock Z370 taichi
G. Skill RipJaws - 3000mhz ( 8 x 2 )
EVGA Geforce 1080 ti FTW3
Samsung 960 evo m.2 SSD 500gb
WD 3TB mechanical

Can you read the label on the ram ? The exact model number is important, please post it so we can check the QVL lists to see if they are on it, what timing and voltage, etc

Thanks for the reply, the model number is F4-3000C15S-8GVRB and it's on the QVL list. The timings are 15-16-16-35 and voltage 1.35. Sticker also says XMP 2.0 ready

Tried again today, If I change Load XMP setting from auto to XMP Profile 1 it will change the target memory speed from 2133 to 3000mhz but when I save changes and exit it tries to boot 3 times and bios screen comes up saying windows failed to boot too many times and I have to change Load XMP setting back to auto which reverts it to 2133.

Dear Dachronic,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, we provide some suggestion to try.

1.       Please update BIOS to the latest version.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z370%20Taichi/index.asp#BIOS

2.       Please install the memory at A2, B2 slot.

3.       Please only install one stick memory to check if the system can work at 3000MHz properly.

4.       Please change another memory to try step 3.

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

I checked the QVL list again and that specific model number is Not on the QVL list , there are a few g skill 3000mhz models on the QVL but not mine specifically F4-3000C15S-8GVRB so I guess I will have to see if I can RMA the ram thru cyberpowerpc or I'll just have to drop 200$ and buy new ram that is on the list.

That ram is on G.Skill QVL for your board (which is good) so should work if you are not overclocking the cpu.
If you are not overclocking the CPU you might get the ram to work by changing the timing a bit.
You should try 16-18-18-38 just to see if it works...

So updated bios to newest version 1.80 which supports more memory compatibility but I'm still left with the same issue. If I try to do the timings manually it boot loops, if I change XMP profile from auto to profile 1 it boot loops, and if I set target speed to dd4-3000 it boot loops. The only way to get it to boot into windows is by leaving XMP profile to auto.
