if you want send me a link to the screen shot of thiaphoon burner (the first step in the ram calculator and i'll work it out for you)

have you actually tried the ryzen ram calculator ?

Hello @daytonb,

OK, first give you a good laugh.

Of course I sat down and tried to work it out but failed miseably, you know why, I just don't know all these stuff......

Now the serious part, thanks for thaiphoon advice, first time running it, please check my method, thanks so much in advance. Welcome other to comment and advice, much thanks too in advance.

yes, I used the calculator, dam thing never work, because always I greedily key in ALL the parameters at once, trusting it fully, and honestly no patience to sit down try one by one.... until recently though.

Anyway, now I realize just use it as base then really got to try one by one.

you made a mistake in first part

i can see in the screenshot you copied dram parameters AND NOT THE BOTTOM PART OF XMP TIMINGS

thats the bit
its only the bottom section we ever need for the timings and the very top bit for the chips maker eg hynix or samsung also note you got the layout correct 2rx8 means its double sided ram

you have now entered everything correctly

now test the 'safe' setting for stability and re-run the calculator to show 'fast' results

slowly try each of the fast settings and check stability

on the taichi board you have a good chance of getting most if not all the fast settings stable as the calculator is now pretty accurate and successful

i find setting in bios of 'dram power down' disabled to help
and also retry count to 5
and dont forget am4 advanced boot training seems to be useful but this will slightly increase the boot time for bios to login screen
