I noticed a while ago that some of the fan speeds being reported on my X370 Taichi were reading zero intermittently in HWiNFO. Thinking is might just be HWiNFO I checked in the BIOS itself and found that it was showing the same behaviour, so the problem wasn't with the monitoring tool but the motherboard itself.

I've since tried a number of different BIOS versions for my motherboard to see if the problem was specific to a particular BIOS; again the same behaviour is apparent in all BIOS versions I've tried.

Here's a screenshot of HWiNFO showing the fan speeds:

As you can see, the minimum fan speeds for three of the five motherboard inputs are intermittently dropping to zero.

During these drops I'm not seeing, or hearing, any actual speed change in the fans themselves, so it appears to be a motherboard sensor issue rather than a power problem.

If the problem continues to worsen and starts to affect the Water Pump sensor then I'm going to have issues as I currently have this sensor configured in HWiNFO to shut down the computer in the event the water pump fails.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or know what might be the cause?
