    Posted: 08 Sep 2018 at 7:00pm
Hi,
I have problem with installation of Windows 10 on WD NVMe WDS250G2X0C because this disk is not detected by Win 10 installer. My MB is ASRock B450M PRO4 with AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU.

SSD is shown in BIOS and I can choose it as boot source.

In Win 10 instalation, when i tried "diskpart" command it shows my SSD correctly. I tried changing partition table to GPT and MBR and nothing helped.

I will be glad for any advice.
Thank you.

latest bios on motherboard ?
insert just the nvme , no other ssd/hdd
and grab the very latest image/iso for win10 (google windows media creation tool and make new usb)

I tried Win 8.1 installation too, but with 100% same bad result. Could be Samsung SSD 970 EVO better choice or I can expect same problems?

has this drive ever had an installation on before now ?
(im wondering if some files have been left over causing tis problem)

as for samsung evo 970, well id just buy the cheaper 960 myself as in real use you wouldnt notice any difference ,but lets see why this drive isnt behaving though

it does seem strange

i would suggest fully clearing cmos (jumper pin+remove battery+ remove power lead 10 mins)
and reseating the nvme drive into the socket (you do have it in the upper m2 ultra socket ?)

if still no good i would assume the drive might have a defect then

SOLVED: Faulty USB flash drive
Same ISO burned to another flash drive solved this issue.

Thanks for your support.
