I'm in the process of building my new PC, and I want to clarify how the M.2 (M2_1) and (M2_2) sockets work/interact with the PCIE slots and the SATA slots.

As I read the manual, If I use the M.2 (M2_1) socket then my PCIE 4 is disabled; and if I use the M.2 (M2_2) socket then my PCIE 5 is disabled.

Do any of my SATA ports get disabled if I use the M2_1 or M2_2 sockets?

Thank you,

Jeffrey

All of your SATA ports should run just as fine, even if you use both M.2 slots.

I believe M2_2 accepts only SATA SSD, though. Only the first one 'eats' NVMe ones.

That's terrific. Thanks for letting me know. I've read that on some other AsRock Mobo's some of the SATA ports share the M.2 sockets so I wanted to avoid the headache of "musical chairs"

Jeff
