Subject: Motherboard LEDs stay on after computer shutdown

Hello there, today I decided to update the ASRock Polychrome RGB App on my PC and this was probably a bad decision. In the uninstallation phase of the old version I had problems with a file named "MsIo64.sys" located in the folder where the program was installed. This file was running and I could not complete the uninstallation but, when I restarted my PC I was able to delete it. After this I installed the new version of the program and, after the installation, a new update of the firmware or something of my peripherals started when I opened the program. After this process that I could not interrupt since a red writing asked not to turn off the PC during this phase, the program started and everything seemed to be going well. Then when I turned off the PC I realized that ONLY the LEDs on the motherboard now remained lit. Such a thing has never happened to my pc.. so what I can do ? I have already tried to uninstall the program, reinstall the program, also tried using the wICPFLASHADSB.exe through the cmd but nothing.. I don't know what to do anymore.
(Btw I have an ASRock X470 Taichi).

Thanks.

I have just noticed that if I disable the LEDs from the program, when I turn off the PC the LEDs remain off. Can someone help me ?

i have your same problem. it's too strange that leds remain ON even when the PC is turned OFF

i have a different motherboard so i thinks it's a software problem

have you updated the Asrock Polychrome rgb sync app too?

i have polychrome 1.0.35
the one who came with CD didn't have the rainbow effect, then i upgraded.

the software is bad. i wansn't expecting something so bad from AsRock. i had a MSI before buying the Master SLi and also their software (Mystic Light) was bad.

Polychrome as another strange bug. often happens that when i change effect nothing happens and i have to try a second time.

I wrote to asrock support and they confirmed that this rgb behavior is normal because it is part of their new LED firmware update. Soon they will publish the new BIOS with the feature to disable the rgb when the computer is off.
That's nice :D

hi I don't agree.
I've the same board (x470) with bios 2.0 (the last one).
I've installed linux, at shutdown every light goes off.
I think it's related to windows that doesn't switches off properly

my bios is 1.9 but app shop can't find any upgrade. how did you find 2.0?

I have the X470 Taichi Ultimate w/UEFI version 2.0 and PolychromeRGB version 1.0.32 installed.
I'm not having this issue at all on my pc.
The only issue I've noticed is that the ASRock APPShop version 1.0.41 still stinks and fails updating Aquantia 10GBE LAN driver repeatedly.
Word of warning the X470 Taichi UEFI version 3.10 must be buggy, as the X470 Taichi Ultimate is still on UEFI version 2.00.
Nothing newer than version 2.00 on ASRock's BIOS page for the X470 Taichi Ultimate.

ciao concittadino!

1.9 doesn't exist, if you mean 1.92 beta by jz then there or on asrock you can find either 2.0 and 3.10 that, btw, works (see its thread).

In the BIOS, in advance settings (I think), something like "Keep RGB on in S5 state" You disable it, save and the RGB will turn off.

Bios> Deep Sleep> Enable
Windows> gpedit.msc
Local Computer policy>
Computer configuration>
administrative templates>
System:
In the window on the right, look for:

"Do not turn off the power of the system after you turn off windows"

(Double click)

Choose "disable"
Apply, ok, close gpedit.msc and restart the pc.
I hope you can help

Newest UEFI is now P3.30.
I installed it last night and haven't really noticed any changes in it.

Hey bro

All you gotta do is load into the BIOD (spam del or f11 on boot up)

and then go into...

advanced < on-board device configuration < turn on leds in S5

switch it from enabled to disabled
