" rel="nofollow - Hi all,

I'm struggling a bit here since I can't even get it to the bios. It's not in the official qvl list, but it"s close, can anyone think why CMK16GX4M2A2400C14R wouldn't work as memory?

Thanks

Try with only 1 RAM stick on A2 slot... and if you can go to BIOS just update to latest BIOS version.

" rel="nofollow - Do you have a system speaker attached? Are you getting 'beeps' when booting? Without any specific boot sounds or error codes you may be getting it's difficult to try to help.

Even so, you may wish to verify the CPU is seated correctly(w/o bent pins), the GPU has the correct pin power connections from the PS, the Mobo has both power connections from the PS, the Memory sticks are 'truly' seated and clean in the slots. Other than that, the first boot is long - then the UEFI/Bios comes up.

Just trying to cover the basics w/o any beeps or error codes. The '1' stick advice is great as well, though I don't know what Mobo/Slot DDR arrangement your system requires.

Difficult to help when we don't know what board and other hardware you are using.

Your board is failing POST for some reason, and memory compatibility is one of the most common reasons for that.

I appreciate I probably should have given more info. I'm using an ab350 gaming k4, so a ryzen 1700x as the cpu.

I've taken out the graphics card for the sake of solving this problem.

And following on from that, I'm afraid I've long since lost my motherboard speaker.

I've tried with both 1 and two sticks in and at this point I'm certain everything is plugged in as it should be.

" rel="nofollow - Ryzen does not have an iGPU so you will need your graphics card installed. The display output on the board is there for if you are using an APU so is not functional with a Ryzen CPU installed.

Could you list your RAM brand and model number for us please. The most common issue with the Ryzen platform is RAM incompatibility.

Install your GPU, CPU and 1 module of RAM in slot A2. Make sure you have the correct 8pin CPU power and 24 pin connector properly seated and try to power on the system.

If that fails try the other RAM module in slot A2. Failing that clear CMOS and try again.

Clear CMOS using this method: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal

If none of this works post back.

That's foolish of me, I just saw the HDMI port and assumed!

That fixed it, I feel like such a Muppet!

" rel="nofollow - It might be best if I start a new thread, but I've a new issue now :(

The mouse and keyboard work in the bios but not in Windows itself. I'm trying both usb 2 and 3 ports.

Has this come up before?

" rel="nofollow - Windows 7?

You need to follow these instructions:

http://www.asrock.com/microsite/win7install/

This is a known issue that comes from the fact that windows 7 has no native USB 3 support. The USB 2 ports on intel 100 series boards (and AM4) and newer operate on a USB 3 controller and so require a USB 3 driver.

Ok, I've been looking in to this. The problem is Windows says it's unable to boot Windows.

So I can't actually get in without repairing the install. Which I can't do with sub peripherals it seems.

I forgot to mention. I did buy a usb/ps2 adaptor but it didn't appear to work. Which I'm not sure if that's the adaptor or some bios setting.
