DDR = Double Data Rate 1466 x 2 = 2933 Most monitoring apps report the RAM's base frequency, this is effectively doubled to reach the operating frequency. Your RAM is running at it's full speed  -------------

DDR memory is rated at MT/s (million transfers/second), not MHz. DDR4-2933 is 2933 MT/s, not 2933 MHz. DDR stands for double data rate meaning that you get two transfers per clock, not one. So a 2933 MT/s stick only has to run at 1466 MHz clock rate. Even the RAM manufacturers have gotten lazy about saying MHz when they mean MT/s. It's annoying. |
