DDR = Double Data Rate
1466 x 2 = 2933 Most monitoring apps report the RAM's base frequency, this is effectively doubled to reach the operating frequency. Your RAM is running at it's full speed

DDR memory is rated at MT/s (million transfers/second), not MHz. DDR4-2933 is 2933 MT/s, not 2933 MHz. DDR stands for double data rate meaning that you get two transfers per clock, not one. So a 2933 MT/s stick only has to run at 1466 MHz clock rate.
Even the RAM manufacturers have gotten lazy about saying MHz when they mean MT/s. It's annoying. |
