Hello (datonyb),
I am having trouble running my 128GB G.skill 3200Mhz C14 RGB TridentZ RAM at any speed above 2800Mhz. With the latest L3.23B uefi, I was able to run fairly stable at 2933Mhz using xmp profile1, but not 100%. I am sure there may be timing / voltage, and tweaking settings that could be tried, but I am not versed in these and would greatly appreciate any advice for getting my RAM to run higher than 2800Mhz.
Thanks for any assistance with this. Please let me know what info. I should provide.
Bryan

128gb at 3200mhz error free ?
ask me something easier like costless energy without fossil fuels ..............
i think if its possible ,its going to tak maybe some looser timings (that may well come at a cost to overall system speed though), e.g. you may find 2800 cl14 actually performs better than 3200
first off a good base is to run thaiphoon and get your ram details saved as a screen shot for reference
then download '1usmus' ryzen ram calculator and see whats its suggesting (take some screen shots of that ) for safe + fast settings and i'll try and find some suggestions from chew/stilt for tr4
the plan would be to start with ryzen calc safe settings and then tweak with other known options from chew and stilt
to 1, get it stable and then 2, maybe tighten it up a bit
you realise you already have plenty of envious green eyes on you for getting 128gb upto 2800mhz already ?

p.s.
you look like you may have more hard drives than seagate retail store
can you find a spare to install a disposable windows install on ?
its possible to mess up an install with crashes etc ,so its better to have a test drive that you can wreck the install on and just spam a new install into without a care in 5 mins

p.p.s.
turn off rgb software thingies for ram when running thaiphoon (theres rumours about it overloading the spd bus when reading) just to make sure

Wow, thanks very much for the quick timely replies.
I am looking for Taiphoon now, and will get screen shots of that and Ryzen Calculator.
I see what you mean about speed vs timings and hope you can help me get an optimal configuration.
Also, you are right, I do have several storage drives including ones that I can test with as I have indeed tried clean installs on them. I have a 1 TB SS 850 Evo 2.5" ssd Raid 0 array available, in addition to the entire Ultra Quad 1TB Raid 0 array.
I can and will turn off the RAM RGB Leds.

its that quad raid im worried about corrupting............................
hence suggestion for a plain old drive that isnt a drama if it corrupts with crashes,to be fair its not a high chance, but its a chance it can crash and mess the file system

" rel="nofollow - Hi,
I finally got Thaiphoon, but am hesitant to run it due to the warnings about the possible damage that can be done. Do you have any tips on how to run it and what options to choose? Also, my Ultra Quad does not have anything important on it right now, and trashing the file system would not be a problem as long as there is no physical damage, I can delete / re-create the array and data.

okay well im off for the night soon so
leaving some tips for you 1, save a bios profile before doing anything, this can be reloaded if and when you get bored playing 2, try to get 4 sticks working first boot it a few times and then dump the extra 4 in 3, last but not least have a read here for some insight into your board and the ram profiles

Good day datonyb,
I am at work, and have only had time to re-do the DRAM calculator w/ ranks set to 2, and attempted to run taiphoon. The screen shots can be found at the URL below. I will start reading the posts that you referenced, but if you glean any useful info from my screenshots, I would be most grateful to know about it. I will try uefi settings tonight if possible, but I am concentrating right now on Windows not restarting or shutting down or sleeping properly on the Asrock Ultra Quad raid array.
Thanks,
Bryan

Yes, I did run thaiphoon as admin, but still got the error messages shown in the screenshots. I'm not sure what you mean about where did I get the values for the Calc. I just selected R-XMP and then calculate safe and calculate fast

arh thats why we wanted thiaphoon
it gives us the values to enter into the calc, instead of clicking rxmp

" rel="nofollow - Hello datonyb,
I have uploaded my Thaiphoon screenshot to imgur. It is at:
https://imgur.com/a/MfiPNbp
I did another clean install of Win 10 Pro to my standalone Samsung 960 Pro, and was able to run Thaiphoon as administrator correctly and clicking on the 'Read' button. Do I also need to upload the 'Report'? Let me know what else I should do if you could. I will also be looking at Ryzen DRAM calculator again.
Thanks much,
Bryan

no just click report scroll to the bottom click show in nanoseconds scroll to bottom again and this section now has the timings shown in nano seconds
these you enter into the ram calculator left coloum AFTER clicking the tab/option for custom
so in the ram calc window select mem type =b die profile = custom mem rank =2 freq = 3200 bclk= 100 dimm mod = 8
and then the data/timings shown in thaiphoon in the spaces under that
then click safe and take a picture of results
i would also suggest for future help clicking the speed option to 3333 and then safe (we may be able to make these timings work at 3200 if the suggested 3200 wont work, if you get my meaning) as these should be a bit looser and maybe they will work at 3200 better than the suggested tighter 3200 timings
remember to also check results given in tab 2 of the calc (advanced) as these are voltages etc needed

" rel="nofollow - Hello datonyb,
So sorry for the delayed response, but I cannot get Thaiphoon burner to run again on my Win10 system as shown in the screenshot that I give a link to below, because it says it cannot install the kernel mode driver due to insufficient privileges even though I ran it as administrator. Any ideas? I have emailed the developer but have not received a reply yet.
