I'm looking for the support area for ASRock mother boards. It seems silly there's support for every other manufacture but the one the form is named after. I just purchased a asrock fatal1ty z170 professional gaming i7 and have questions it it will need a bios flash to support an i7-7700k? If it does can I break anything by inserting the CPU just to see if it will post? Is there anyway to flash the bios without a supported could? I'm just a noob girl building her first build and would like some help from you guys please. I am not trying to break my motherboard I just got by putting a noob supported CPU in it. I'm also not trying to pay $45 for a Celeron just to update the bios. There's so many fancy things on this board can it flash without posting? Also there's a switch for the bios so there's two bios's? Does that mean if I break one there another? Also, the manual says it can but from nvme, but only "300 Series chipset motherboards only" but no instructions on how to determine if it is a 300 series chipset whatever that means. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Ok, thank you for responding. That's actually where I got the idea I might need to flash my bios in the first place, but thank you for responding.

I'm just wanting to know if it's more likely than not that I'll have to buy a used G3900 just to update the bios.
