Hi Guys,

I have just finish to assemble my config with
- taichi x399
- TR1920x
- corsair RM1000i (1000w)
- ddr4 corsair vengeance LPX 4*16Go 2666Mhz CL16 (CMK32GX4M2A2666C16)
- corsair M2 MP510 ssd

The Mobo give me a Dr Debug Code 16 when i have all the ram plug, and a Code 10 error when i have only one slot of ram.

The CPU / CASE / GPU fan are running fine.

But basically the PC start , then give error 10 during 2 minutes then all light stop during 5 seconds( but fan keep working ), then the light start again and the code 10 error appear again. This cycle repeat again and again infinitly.

I you have any idea on what i am doing wrong it would be great !
Cheers
E

Well to be more specific , when i use a unique slot of ram
- if the ram is in A1 A2 B1 B2 the error is code 10.
- if the ram is in D2 D1 C2 C1 the error is code 16.

For starters you should use A2, B2, C2 and D2 RAM slots.

It's advisable to re-seat the CPU and clear CMOS too.

Thanks for your answer xhue.

- yes ram was properly install in A2 B2 C2 D2 as describe in the manual
- i have also done a clear CMOS but not sure i do it properly ? ( i have shut alim down then push the clear cmos button during 10 seconds )

i would like to be able to isolate if it's a mobo or cpu or ram issue , is there any way to interpret this code 10 ? just to be sure it's the CPU and not the ram ?

without any ram i also have a code 10 error. so i tend to think it's a ram compatibility problem ?

Thanks again for your support.

You cleared CMOS properly. You may want to pull the power cird from the wall next time, as some shutowns are 'soft' ones.

You still didn't address the CPU re-seating, though. TR4 are known to have some trouble making proper contact with all pins.

While I personally won't touch Corsair memory, I can't vouch for incompatibility.

As for the debug codes, your guess is as good as mine. 10 to 54 are all memory related errors, without any specific detail known to the general public.

Thanks again for all your suggestion xhue.

i have update the bios to 2.30. now the error code is not error 10 or error 16, but C0 which is not documented.

i have also realise that i have omit to connect the 4 pin 12v (ATX12V2) to my psu. now it is done and it doesn't solve anything.

i will try to update to the 3.xx bios , do another clear CMOS, double check evrything.

and if it's still not working remount the CPU which is quite a PITA to be honest.

what memory manufacturer would you recommand ? gskill ? crucial ? kingston ?

cheers

I know remounting the CPU is a huge hurdle but there is a huge chance that is exactly what you needed all along. We have seen it many times, especially here.

Updating to the latest BIOS is always recommended if one has issues with their build. Clearing CMOS is also a must every time you update or touch some part.

If you ever get to remount the CPU, check for bent socket pins too. Best would be if you tear the entire PC down and rebuild it from the ground up.

Check all mobo standoffs, cables, connectors, etc.

Update to BIOS 3.5 now give me the error 10 code that i had previously.
I have install only one different kit of ram in D2 slot.

I have make an other Clear CMOS.

I still get the error 16.
- incompatible ram
- CPU not mounted properly
- PSU
- faulty x399 taichi

i'm not sure what's wrong.

Thanks xhue i have just see your answer, i will then remount everything from scratch if it need to be done, and pay attention with the CPU.

What bother me is that i am very picky and i have already double check everything during CPU mounting.

Friends beware me that TR mounting was a big headache , looks they were right !

Depending on the build date of your mobo, it may have an extra messy TR4 socket retention mechanism. Some bad batches slipped through QA in the early days.

Double picky you say? Do you use white gloves, anti static mats and bracelets in dust-free room with controlled humidity? Believe me, you're not extra picky. :-)

Also, unless you can actually see what is going on after you close the retention frame, you can't be exactly sure if it's all OK. Your best option is to try once more while hoping for a better result
