Broadwell CPU defect when playing Dota and CS:GO

I have recently bought a brand new pc.Everything was fine at first but after a few days i started getting BSOD with MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION error when playing Dota 2 and CS:GO.

First of all let me give my PC spec :

Processor : Intel Core i5-5675C Cpu 3.10GHz

Ram : G-Skill 8GB + 8GB

Motherboard : Asrock Fatality Z97 killer

OS : Windows 10 x64 bit

So I did a bit of searching and learnt about the broadwell CPU microcode defect and updated my motherboard to latest 2.20 version.Still the problem persisted.I then stopped the Intel Speedstep technology which caused problem for many.Still no luck.

So my question is what options do I have now?BIOS update did no good for me.Is changing my processor the only valid option?? :(

	This is an issue intel needs to address and while yes, it will likely come in the form of a BIOS update it is not up to (or even possible for) the board manufacturer to correct an issue with intel's CPUs. Intel will, hopefully, come up with a fix and then supply this fix to board manufacturers to add to a BIOS update. Without intel first making the fix however there is no way a board manufacturer can correct the issue. Without confidential information about the CPU, it's microcode and inner workings that intel will never disclose for obvious reasons it simply cannot be done. I would try and contact intel tech support on the issue and inform them of the problem. Doubtless they will refer you back here (ASRock) but at least if enough people report the issue they will be more likely to release a fix to manufacturers.

	Thanks for your reply.... Funny thing is Asrock did release a BIOS fix : http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z97%20Killer/?cat=Download&os=BIOS But like many other users of various motherboards,this BIOS update does not seem to completely fix the issue.Some of their issue got fixed but for a unlucky few like us the problem persisted :(

	I did see that but again, it comes back to intel. Clearly their "fix" was did not fully address the issue. Interestingly this is one of the reasons I went to Skylake rather than Broadwell as I initially intended. You can try talk to ASRock Tech Support directly, they may have more answers for you but I would still suggest getting in touch with intel too.

	From the dates, ASRock is owning you another BIOS update. The Broadwell microcode fixes are all dated 2015-08 and 2015-09. A BIOS from before August/september 2015 is *NOT* fixed. Pester them for a release with the latest Broadwell and Broadwell-E microcode. Intel released it for everybody in 2015-11-06, and ASRock had them already since 2015-09 at the latest. It can update the microcode in UEFI. But don't complain about a bricked motherboard to ASRock if you attempt it.
