Hello there.

To sum it up quickly, i have a ryzen 2600 and an x370 pro 4.
I want to update to the latest version of the bios ( i am still at 4.60 ).
I want to do that in order to be able to use SAM with my AMD GPU ( 7900 xtx ).

As there is no SAM option in bios with my current bios version.

I don't see any warning under the 7.xx bios for Pinnacle Ridge.

I want a confirmation that i can update to the 7.00x bios without risk.

Thanks.

your CPU doesnt support SAM, in bios it would be called resizeable BAR anyway and not SAM, you will need ryzen 3000 or better for re-bar

and yes you can use 7.xx with your CPU

A bit off topic, but that RX 7900XTX is quite a monster to pair with an R5-2600. I can imagine that CPU being a bottleneck to the GPU in a lot of situations, but maybe your use case doesn't require a fast CPU.

I don't know where you live, but if you can pick up an R5-5600 on sale, I think it would really bring that GPU to life.

Maybe you live near a MicroCenter and can get a 5600X3D or something, too. But obviously, I don't know your situation. I just thought that the CPU/GPU combo is a bit lopsided.
