Hi,
My motherboard is Asrock FM2A68M-DG3+. I am planning to upgrade my VGA card by using SAPPHIRE RX460 NITRO 4GB DDR5. I've checked the graphic card system requirement, and my mobo passes it. But I doubt whether the graphic card will fit the mobo or not (in term of dimension). I ask my local seller about this but they did not give my satisfying answer. I proposed to try it first at home and replace with other graphic card if it does not fit but they won't allow me. I'm not going to spend 165 bucks for something that I am not sure will work with my PC. I need some advices.

It's not one of the long or even super long cards.
What lengths does you case manufacturer state it will accommodate/you can install? |

A video card "fitting" on a mother board is normally not a problem. The card you listed, like virtually all video cards, is designed to fit in a PCIe x16 length slot, which your board has. A video card might block certain things on a mother board, such as the SATA ports. It looks like that won't happen with your board. The PC case is usually what will limit what video cards may be used with it. Or other things like cabling and the mounting position of HDDs and SSDs. A microATX board like yours is 244mm x 244mm (9.6" x 9.6".) The video card you listed is 221(L)X 123(W)X 38 (H)mm Dimension /mm, and is a two slot height card (two slots on the back of the PC case.) If you use the PCIE2 slot, below the PCIE1 slot, then this card won't fit because it will cover the PCIE2 slot. You would need a single slot video card in that case, which are uncommon. That is a standard size card, 8.7" long, not very long as some cards are over nine or ten inches long. A video card that is 8.7" long will extend over the right edge of your board by about an inch, or any microATX board. If that is a problem, and what you mean by fitting, then no it won't fit. You should define what "fit" means in your situation, which mainly involves the PC case more than the mother board. The dimensions of the PC case are important. |
