I'm thinking of getting the X99-ITX/ac, along with a Broadwell-E CPU. However it seems that the system will not even POST without the required 3.10 update. My question is, is there any way to update the BIOS with a procedure similar to Asus' Flashback? What are my options, except purchasing a Haswell-E CPU just to update the BIOS?

Do the newer boards come with the latest BIOS? Is there a way to tell from the packaging?

Thanks in advance

You can purchase a new BIOS chip directly from ASRock with the correct BIOS version preflashed. I would open a support ticket with them first and explain your issue however.

There is no way to tell on the packaging which UEFI/BIOS version is included with the board.

The direct connection for UEFI chips is via the Repair/RMA link, here:

NOTE: The forum editor's link creation tool is failing for some reason, the link may not work. The URL is correct.

I had the same problem when I bought my X99X fatal1ty 3.1 board paired with the 6850k. It came with BIOS v1.0. I contacted support and mailed me an updated chip for free. All I had to do was show them my itinerary.
