I've been running a stable Ryzen 3 1200 and wanted to get something a little "peppier" so I picked up a Ryzen 7 1700. Ever since I switched the CPU though I've been getting the dreaded random lock up and freezes every 10-15 minutes. My system specs are:
Asrock AB350M Pro 4 motherboard, current bios Ryzen 3 1200 changed to Ryzen 7 1700 CPU G Skill DDR4 2400 memory, 2 x 8GB F4-2400C15D-16GFXR Intel SSDSCKJW360H601 M.2 2280 360 GB SATA 6Gb/s Internal SSD Seasonic Focus 550 FX Gold PSU Windows 10 Pro - clean install GeForce GTX 1050 The 2400 mhz GSkill Flare isn't the fastest but it should be compatible with the two processors, correct? Ram is in slots A2 & B2. I also tried dropping down to a single stick of RAM and tested them both but that didn't help at all. Also tried a temporary install of Windows 10 on a standard hard disk drive and that didn't fix it either. Kind of hard to believe I'm having problems with a brands new CPU, but everything points to that. I'm not missing anything as far as my system compatibility am I? I did a full BIOS reset between the processor changes, but using the jumper on the MB and from with the BIOS. Also pulled the CPU and re-seated it just in case and that didn't change anything either. Thanks.

Search for AB350M in the forum and have fun! No, not really.
RAM should work fine with the 1700. Please post what UEFI version you have and which updates you did (and how). Don't spare any details. You could also try booting from a Linux live USB and see if you have crashes after some time. |
