All the fan profiles except the "silent" is like sitting right next to a jet engine. So I set my profile to Silent and I can hear a pin drop. However, I am annoyed by the frequent quick temp spikes as indicated by the Core Temp tool.
The system will be idling at 33'C and immediately within a fraction of a second will go to 50'C with the fans reving up like a jet engine. Then the temp and fan noise/rpm will come down as fast as they went up - entire temp spike lasting just under two seconds. I realize this happens as the workload goes up and down but I don't think this is good for the CPU to have a temp spike from 33 to 50 and back down in less than two or three second. Is this happening because of the Silent mode? |
