Hello,

Today, March 8 2018, we have released BETA BIOSes that address the Wi-Fi issue some are experiencing.

EDIT:
Note: This address Wi-Fi issues for those with Raven Ridge processors.

Sincerely,
wardog

When will a non-beta BIOS be released that fixes this issue for production-grade use? I don?t want to void my warranty or have unnecessary complications. Please let the engineering team know we are anxiously awaiting a new stable (or non-beta) release addressing this Wi-Fi issue on the Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac. Thanks!

I have already Elevated it.

Time-line? Unknown, obviously.

And  really? Production-grade use?

Raven Ridge was just released. When ever was a new gen processor ready for "production' use in such short time? I mean, c'mon man. Never.

@hifihedgehog

With issues like this it is very common for a manufacturer to release a beta BIOS to correct the issue. This is because beta BIOS testing is significantly less stringent than release version testing and allows a fix to be made available to the public much faster. Now before anyone panics about the less stringent testing, this is due to the fact that they take a release BIOS, add the fix for only that particular issue then release it. The BIOS in this instance is already known stable, the changes to correct the issue in question do not (negatively) affect stability.

The difference between a release BIOS and a Beta BIOS is typically that the beta is based on an older revision with only minor tweaks whereas a new release BIOS is often vastly changed over the previous version, with AMD this often includes updated AGESA codes and other more drastic changes. These require significantly more testing across a broad spectrum of components before release. When a major issue is found, it is most often corrected quickly via a Beta BIOS and then worked into the next release version when it is ready. This cannot be rushed, hence the need for the Beta.

Hello,

regarding AB350 Pro4:

Latest BIOS is 4.70 (released 2018/3/6), and there is also a beta 4.63 (released 2018/2/13), both at same size, 7.30MB.

My questions are:

1) Does 4.70 has this Wifi fix, or only the 4.63 does?
2) This Wifi fix is for only Raven Ridge (2xxx) processors?

I ask because I have a Ryzen 5 1600 with this board and I do experience Wifi issues (Intel 7260 rev 0x144). 4.70 did not solve it for me, but I did not try 4.63. Tested different BIOS and kernel versions (Linux here); what seems to have made the most difference for me was trying out an older different firmware for the Wifi card (more details: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=234796). Might have to open an own thread in here about it.
Ryzen 5 1600, ASRock AB350 Pro4 (P4.70), 1x16GB (CT16G4DFD8213.C16FH1), ASUS GTX 1060 3GB (DUAL-GTX1060-O3G), SeaSonic S12II 620W, Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260, REV=0x144
