Windows 7 isn't supported at all on the Z390 chipset boards. This is MS and Intel. Only Win 10 x64 is supported.

There are no drivers for previous versions of Windows, and hardly any of the hardware will be recognized.

Hi Everyone,

Sent a support request through, but wondering if anyone can help while I wait.

I'm upgrading my PC:
Asrock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 MB
Intel i7 9700k
16GB RAM

All new components, but using a recycled hard drive with an up to date version of Windows 7.

PC boots perfectly fine, I can use a mouse and keyboard in bios, but when windows loads - nothing. With both input devices frozen I have to use power down buttons to shut down. Tried using windows 7 install disk, but I get the same problem at the point I select the install language so can't move past it.

I've read online some issues with windows 7 and USB 3 but I can't see how that can be the problem. The MB has USB 2 and 3 ports and even a PS2 port, same problem on all 3 and the windows 7 should have current USB 3 drivers since the old MB had USB 3 ports too. Same problem with different mice/keyboards too.

Help?
