Hello,
i found in the meanhwile a solution (i think the battery removal idea could also work in my case): Because i could not enter the Bios menu (version 1.10) anymore, i updated the Bios to the latest version in DOS(i used the program Rufus for making a bootable USB stick). After the update i could luckily enter the Bios again but the Debug Code 28 (memory problem) was still there. I found out, that the memory dram times were not correct set inside the Bios (that was the reason why the PC startet Windows after 3 attempts because after 2 fail starts the mainboard used the standard values). I loaded the Bios factory defaults and loaded the XPS profile. Now it shows the correct values and everything works complete normal again. But I dont know why the Bios changed the dram time values from its own. I was since around 1 Year not anymore inside the Bios Menu. Best greetings Mike |

Try a full CMOS clear using this method:
http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal That should purge all settings completely, including the BIOS password so don't forget to redo that if it is important to you. Let us know if that resolves your issue. |

Hello,
i have a fatal1ty z270 gaming i7 bios mainboard and a very strange problem: Windows 10 is running normal but when i want go into the Uefi bios menu with del or F2 during the boot sequenze i get asked for the Bios password and after entering the password i can only move the mouse but the rest of the screen is only black and nothing happens anymore. Reseting the Bios with the reset button made it more worst. Debug Code stops with 28. When i start the PC 2-3 times windows starts again. Is it possible that the bios chip have a problem but windows can still boot? |
