The CPU arrived today, I'll give the P3.90 a try. I hope it's as stable as the P3.40 I'm using. Thank you guys.

my wife has the b450m pro4
it says the same thing in bios files as the non m pro4 i can tell you it worked out the box with version 3.9 and the 1600af (which is actually 2600 silicon) to be honest version 3.9 for the m board is a very good stable bios which runs 3200 mhz xmp crucial ballistix with a one click xmp press my friend also has the 450m pro4 using a 2600x on bios 3.9 and also the same 3200 ballistix ram all without issues |

you'll need to flash to the 3.90 or newer BIOS prior to installing the 1600AF to be properly recognized ..
It's just a generic warning from ASRock so individuals don't needlessly update their BIOS's when they don't need to.. Your current 1400 will work under any BIOS version .. hence the 'all' under "Since BIOS" column in the CPU support list. |

So I have the following config:
16GB (2X8) 3000MHz CL16 GEIL GTX 1070Ti MSI Gaming Something I don't' care Ryzen 5 1400 @4.05GHz with 1.45v (yeah the one that no one bought) HP EX 950 1TB NVMe SSD So, i'm using bios version P3.40 (as 3.50 was really broken,OC didn't even work with summit, so I managed to rollback to the P3.40) and I got an opportinity to get a 1600AF for only 58 bucks new. The problem is that the CPU support list says that this CPU is only supported with 3.90 BIOS and the P3.90 BIOS description says it's NOT RECOMENDED for summit, pinnacle or raven CPUS, afaik the 1600AF is a pinnacle CPU without its boosting features. So, should I try using the 1600AF with the P3.40 BIOS or should I update it straight to the 3.90? Why this BIOS isn't recommended for pinnacle anyways? |
