3 Pin fans have the following layout
1. Ground 2. variable voltage up to 12 Volt 3. RPM sensor 4 pins fans have a different layout 1. Ground 2. Fixed 12Volt 3. RPM sensor 4. PWMJ steering, so the pulse frequency sets the fan speed. A lot of 3 pin fans run at full speed because of the fixed 12 volt, when using a 4Pin header |

Hi everyone,
I have some questions about the Chassis Fan connectors on my motherboard. If I connect a 3 pin fan to one of these connectors, will I be able to control its speed in the bios? Or maybe fan must be 4 pin? And the last question is can I connect the fan controller to chassis fan connector and control several fans? |
