We should be able to get this fixed up for you easily. In the UEFI, Chipset Configuration screen, find the Onboard HD Audio option. It should be set to Auto now. Set it to Enabled instead of Auto. Save and Exit the UEFI, and you're done. Your analysis of the situation is exactly correct. But it can be modified to work as you desire. The description of the settings and operation of this option from your board's manual: Enable/disable onboard HD audio. Set to Auto to enable onboard HD audio and automatically disable it when a sound card is installed. |

Hi, I need to run two audio cards on my X99 Extreme4 3.1 system, but unfortunately as soon as I add the additional Asus Xonar DX card on my PCI Express port and restart the system it seems as if the BIOS disables automatically the onboard audio and I am left just with the newly installed additional Audio card.
Upon checking the BIOS settings, I do not seem to be able to find anything that would allow me to control manually the onboard audio and force it to be left on. I am assuming that the BIOS is automatically disabling the onboard audio once it is sensing the added card, but I am not sure.
