X399 tweaking issue

The CPU actually got up to 4.2 by itself.
At 1.050 I have some hesitation and the system actually push it up to 1.080.

Most of my settings are in auto, for sure I need to tune down the voltage but do not wish to place fixed value.

Tried different ram overclock tonight and as soon as I hit any overclock I get the 6 beeps and the FC code as long as it is beeping after it the normal code dances.

Point was you should only need SOC of 1.05 for your ram and not 1.1+ .....now if you go overclocking your cpu this value may change depending on your cpu/imc

So I tried 1.050v and 1.130 v in the vddc soc still got my 6 beeps.

Decided to use the ryzen ram calculator value, that was a no go lol, got the 6 beeps + reboot + 3 beep in the end the system performed a bios reset.

So now I can say not vddc soc or ram voltage.

I get the 6 beeps when I run my 64GB @ 2933Mhz......you should try lowering the SOC voltage....I only need 1.05v to run my memory stable.


I have no idea why it beeps 6 times when running the XMP profile...you'd have to ask an Asrock engineer who codes the bios I suppose.

Yup 1600 mhz or 3200.
Actually I read my soc value out of the Asrock overclock utility as the bios only display auto.

I also found using the same utility that if I increase the ram voltage the system add 0.1X v to it. So let say I increase to 1.365 v I will read in the Asrock software 1.377 v. Something happens if I do 1.375 v in bios in Windows I read 1.385v.

The beep are there to tell me something as the POST take a extra 2 seconds to do when I get the 6 beeps.

Heya I have x399 Fat Pro and im using a beep speaker for post diagnosis and found that the six beeps is part of the MB post process (it beeps 6 times at the start of every post ) While OC my memory it it had a prob with the OC settings it would do the normal six beeps then another 3 signaling memory issues so the six beeps are normal

When you boot into Windows, have you verified what the memory is actually running at?
Did you mean 1900X?

Yup the system boom in win10 in OC
It is 6 beeps in a row no space in between.
The beeps happen while thé display Is black just before the Asrock bios logo.

The memory is installed as 2 kits in quad channel slots and recognized as quad mode so no problem there.

From what I was reading 1.05 is recommended for OC but the system go 1.12 is that not too much ? anyone running more than 1.15 on soc ?

Do you mean the PC boots Windows 10 normally, but you just get the beeps during POST when you enable the XMP profile?

If the PC does not boot Windows with XMP enabled, then the current memory settings and memory voltages will need to be adjusted, and possibly the speed reduced.

When you hear the beeps, does the PC seem to start the POST and startup cycle more than once? Do you hear three beeps, then quiet for several seconds, and then three beeps again?

If you do, that seems to be the AMD memory training happening. That also happens with Ryzen AM4 boards. AM4 boards have an option called AMD Advanced Boot Training in the OC Tweaker screen. Your board's manual does not include that option, but it may have been added in a later UEFI/BIOS version.

When the VDDCR_SOC voltage changes from 0.900V to 1.120V when you OC the memory or use the XMP profile, do you change it back to 0.900V?

You should set the VDDCR_SOC voltage to 1.120V, that is needed when you OC the memory to 3200. It might need more voltage to stop the beeping, how much more can only be found by testing.

Actually, the Memory QVL List for your board only has your memory model verified at 3200 with just two DIMMs, not four. Your memory is the 16GFX entry, you are using two of the 16GFX kits, correct?



For a test, enable the XMP profile, but set the memory speed to 2933 or 3066, to check if that stops the beeping.
